out of touch/major prayer request

It’s been a crazy few months and I’ve been out of touch with pretty much everything lately.

Well for starters, I failed a class because my teacher wouldn’t accept any of my scholarships without a transcript. For a little bit, my plans of going to UNLV in the fall were in jeopardy. With the help of God, I worked out a deal with my teacher and vice principal and as long as I get an A next quarter, I will be set to graduate.

Unfortunately, before I worked out that deal, I made a plan with my boyfriend to stay here for a year and live together, then go up to Vegas together. The problem is I haven’t exactly told my mom that plan and now she wants to know when to send in my official letter of acceptance. So please pray for strength to face my mother and to decide what I really want.

Then there’s the real stuff.

On Saturday, my boyfriend’s first cousin was involved in a head-on collision. She was one of five people who passed away. The driver of her car was the only one in that vehicle who lived. The three people in the other car are hospitalized and in stable condition. She was only 19 years old. Please just pray for his family right now because they are all at a loss of what to do. Her father is a meth addict and her parents just had another baby two weeks ago. Four of her younger siblings live with us because her parents aren’t taking them to school and her other brother does not communicate with the family (except for now, of course).

Also, her grandmother (and my boyfriend’s grandmother) has cancer. She begins chemotherapy today. She only has 1/4 of a lung left and she is not well. She already has enough trouble breathing and now she is in grief. Please pray for her because she needs all the strength and encouragement she can get.

Lastly, my boyfriend’s mother is also not well. I’m not sure on the details of what’s wrong with her, but it is serious. She has multiple doctor’s appointments a week, she faints when she’s working too hard, and she takes about eight different medications a day. Please pray for quick and speedy recovery.

Please pray for my boyfriend and the rest of his family. This is a lot to deal with at once and praise the Lord that they know Him. The rest of their family is coming to them for hope and support but right now, Mark (my boyfriend) doesn’t know how to give this hope that people are longing for. Please just pray for him to be able to move forward and make her proud.

EDIT: She also did not have life insurance and we don’t have the funds for a funeral. So if any of you have good and quick fundraising ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
